What we look for
We care about what you have built more than where you learned to build it.
- Show us something real
- Shipped work, a side project, an open source contribution, a write up of something you figured out. Put it at the top, above the education section.
- Range, not just depth
- Titles here are approximate. Engineers make design calls, designers read the code, and everybody talks to users. Bring one thing you are genuinely good at and a willingness to touch the rest.
- You finish things
- Most of the value in software lands in the last ten percent. We would rather see one thing you carried all the way to real users than five that stopped at a demo.
- You care who is on the other end
- Students use this to prepare for exams that decide what happens next for them. That is worth remembering when you are deciding whether something is finished.
How we hire
Write to us
Send a short note to the address below. What you have built, what you would want to work on, and links to anything we can look at. A cover letter is not required and a CV on its own tells us very little.
A person reads it
Every note. There is no form, no applicant tracking system, and no automated filter deciding whether we see it.
You get an answer
If there is nothing open we say so rather than leaving you waiting. We would rather give you a clear no than keep you in a pipeline that is not moving.
When a role opens, the interview stages for it are published on this page before we start interviewing, so you know what you are walking into.
Applying safely
Recruitment fraud is common and it targets candidates, not companies. A few things that are always true of us.
- We only ever contact candidates from an @anquin.com address.
- We will never ask you for money, a fee, a deposit, or bank details at any stage of hiring.
- We will never ask you to buy equipment and claim it back.
- Open roles appear on this page. If a role is not listed here, it is not ours.
If something claiming to be from Anquin asks for any of that, it is not us. Do not click anything in it, and tell us at the address below.
Your information
What happens to the note you send is covered by our privacy notice. In short: a person reads it, we keep it only while it is useful to you for us to have it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Adjustments
If you need anything changed about how we speak with you, at any stage, tell us and we will arrange it. You do not need to explain why, and asking makes no difference to how your application is read.
